General Introduction

Understanding what is PerformFlow and how it works in general.

1. What is PerformFlow?

PerformFlow is a Google Forms add-on developed by JetDyno. It is a 2-in-1 add-on which can either help you automatically generate PDF file & Google document, or, automate your approval workflows.

The PerformFlow addon is easy to use. You start by selecting one of the four modes:

  • Generate PDF/document only: will auto-generate PDF & document every time a submission is sent to your form.
  • Generate & send PDF/document only: will auto-generate PDF & document every time a submission is sent to your form, and, send the generated file to your specified recipients.
  • Create approval workflow only: when a request is submitted to your form, the add-on will send emails to your specified recipients asking them to make approval decision (we call these as “approval email“). After your recipients make decision, the request will be either approved or rejected. Then a final-status email will be sent to all recipients (and form respondent if you need). 
  • Combine All Modes: will auto-generate PDF & document every time a submission is sent to your form. And when a submission is sent, your recipient will receive generated document and have ability to approve/reject right on the same email.

2. Install PerformFlow

2.1. Install via Google Forms

Step 1: Open addons menu from your Google Form.

Step 2: Type “performflow” on the search bar then press “Enter”

Step 3: Click on “PerformFlow” product, then click “Install”.

Step 4: Accept the authorizations.

Afterwards, you should be able to see the new “PerformFlow” entry under the addon icon.

2.2. Install via G Suite marketplace

Step 1: Go to G Suite marketplace.

Step 2: Type “performflow” on the search bar then press “Enter”

Step 3: Click on PerformFlow, then click Install.

Step 4: Accept the authorizations.

Afterwards, you can click on Launch to open a new Google Form. You should be able to see the new “PerformFlow” entry under the addon icon. This also applies to all of your created Forms.

3. Try Demo

Please follow the guide below to use this option:

Step 1: Create a new Form on your Google Forms.

Step 2: On your new Form, click on the addons icon -> click “PerformFlow”

Step 3: You will see PerformFlow menu on the right side of the screen. Click on Try Demo.

Step 4: Select one among 3 questions template (Leave/Vacation Request, Expense Approval, Purchase Request)

Afterwards, the addon automatically generates questions and configures approval workflow for you.

To send a test submission, clicks on “Send a submission” button to open a submission page.

After answering the questions, click on “Submit” button then you will receive an approval notification email on your Gmail. Go to your Gmail and you will get to approve/reject your test submission.
