Learn how to display file attachment links in notification and final emails.
Overview
If your respondents (for example, employees) need to upload documents such as PDFs, Google Docs, or Sheets with their form responses, you can now include a link to these attachments in both the notification email and final email.
This feature enables recipients to quickly access the uploaded files without needing to open the form response manually.
Step 1: Add a File Upload Question
Open your Google Form.
Add a File Upload question.
(Recommended) Set the maximum number of files to 1 to ensure smooth attachment handling.
Note: Currently, we recommend allowing only one file per question due to form and email limitations.
Step 2: Configure the Add-on
Set up or edit your approval workflow as usual using the add-on.
Review your configuration and click Save.
Once saved, the add-on will automatically include the file attachment link as part of the response to your File Upload question in both the notification and final emails.
Step 3: View the File Attachment Link
In the emails, the attached file will appear as a clickable link under the corresponding question.
All recipients will be able to access the link by default.
Important: At this time, all email recipients can view the attached file link, and access permissions cannot be restricted within the add-on.
